‘Blade Runner: The Final Cut’ At REGENT STREET CINEMA 23 April As Part Of ‘Days Of Future/Past’

‘Blade Runner’, adapted from Philip K Dick’s novel, ‘Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?’ sees Harrison Ford excel as the world-weary detective, Rick Deckard, a member of a special police force, on a quest to chase down mutinous, murderous replicants in an oppressive futuristic cosmopolis.

It is 2019, the year in which ‘Blade Runner’ is set. Join the Regent Street Cinema on Tuesday, April 23, to explore the themes of artificial intelligence, robotics and humanity which underpin the film, and which are starting to move from science fiction to science fact.

Screening as part of ‘Days Of Future/Past’ – a series of events and screenings aiming to explore the impact and consequence of popular science fiction ideas in today’s world, ‘Blade Runner’ will screen with a special introduction from Professor Owen Holland, Professor of Cognitive Robotics at the Sackler Centre, University of Sussex. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion on the ethics of Robotics and AI.
