Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, but now living in Los Angeles, Chole Tang covers all bases with her music. Writing RnB songs with a pop sensibility, she tells the truth of life experiences without sugar-coating them, and her growing fanbase have found an artist to whom they can truly relate.
Chloe got her first push in her music career when she attended Grammy Camp in 2013, following that with songwriting studies at the University of Colorado, graduating in 2018. Her music has been featured on major Spotify playlists the world over, including New Music Friday in the US, Sweden, and Denmark, and Love Pop, Fresh Electronic, Creamy Tracks, New Pop Revolution, and Brand New Chill, among others. By the end of 2018, Chloe’s music had amassed over 550K Spotify streams, with listeners in 65 countries – she’d also opened for Dua Lipa at a sold out performance at Denver’s Fillmore Auditorium. The video for ‘No Hype’ sees Chloe hanging out with a party crowd, who generally get up to no good – “dining and dashing” from a Chinese restaurant, drinking too much Tsingtao beer. Later, she wakes up after a hazy drug filled night, her companions still passed out around her. She realises that she’s had enough and that they’re not worth the hype. She says,
“At first glance, ‘Hype’ is a self explanatory track about calling someone out on their bullshit, basically saying ‘You’ve got a huge ego and that kind of attitude can be dangerous’. However, on a deeper level, it can be an empowering song for anyone who is torn down/intimidated by people who act like they’re better than you. The idea behind the song was to give people the courage to say, ‘fuck it, I don’t need that kind of negativity in my life. You’re not worth the hype’.”
